SoulJar Boy.

Jars - contain things. Anything. Liquids, Animals, Excrement.
My FMP is about containg. Containing ficticious life within a space.
To use light, sound and space to create a reaction amongst my audience.
Its removing yourself from the project to create work that you dont KNOW or understand.
When you get so absorbed in a subject that you forget your self.
You become this life thats never existed.
You become reborn as anyone you want to be.
Im a storyteller.
And I tonight Matthew, Im going to be...

Grow some spine son!

Carrying on with my recent inspiration. Spines.
The tangling mass of structure we're all dependant on.

Without it we're a fragil heap of brittle bones.
Its a life-line. Its also the one thing thats depicted who I really am.
The constant appointments, the insecurities, but, also the selfconfidence gained by my recovery.
The brutal scars that adorn my skin, the tingling sensation of numb nerves.
Its real, and its got scope. Just got to run with it. And I'm excited to see where it'll end!

-Inspired by these old xrays i found in the attic.
It seems only yesterday I had them operations.
The backbrace, the itchy sweaty deformity it gave me.
The scars. The stitches. The chest drain.
The fear. The Panic.
Just going to see where it leads me.

Oh you dutty purvurt you!

Life drawing, the most therapeutic activity.
Listening to the jangling sounds of Mozart, the heaters radiating my face. The soft scratch of chalk and charcoal.
I look forward to Tuesdays.Always.
-Experimenting with different backgrounds which can work with my drawings to create a different interpretation.

'Loosing Innocence.'

The rise and fall.

Am currently looking at what is 'real', creating an array of canvas' that represent the way I see the world.
We abuse our planet and in doing this we spend our lives watching the gradual crumbling of our surroundings.
The new becomes the old. Its the rise and fall. The heavy thump of a breaking heart.
Heres a preview...

(more to come soon!)

She goes off travelling around the world, finding herself lured into their different cultures and the sights she see's.
Yet her adventures soon take a turn for the worst, and home seems that little more appealing.'

inspired by the intimate writings of Anne Frank.
